Job Description
BLEND360 is looking for a senior to mid-level technical individual with consulting experience to supervise a 6 month Tableau upgrade project on a contract-to-hire basis.
Qualifications
The role of the Business Intelligence Manager - Tableau Solution Engineering is to handle the upgrade and maintenance tasks in the Tableau server environment, working directly with client stakeholders and users, ensuring smooth delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage an enterprise instance of Tableau, which includes maintaining and upgrading Tableau Server, modifying the solution to comply with security protocols (LDAP), setting up and launching dev & QA instances, upgrading the infrastructure and cluster configuration (AWS), and introducing new features.
- Design and implement a process for managing patches, server resources, executing server health checks, and fallback procedures.
- Migration of reports to Tableau Cloud from other BI tools and On Prem Tableau server.
- Troubleshoot performance issues of dashboards and data sources.
- Manage resources/space including analyzing the usage of published workbooks to discard unused reports.
- Support the development of logical and physical processes in data warehouse, including creating tables, triggers, ETL and procedures and functions to fulfill data needs of the BI reports.
- Co-work with internal and client stakeholders in a cooperative setting and generate collaborative resolutions during conflicts.
- Adopt an agile approach with iterative design, prototyping solutions quickly, and capitalizing on high-value innovation opportunities.
- Document maintenance, data flows and technical designs to guarantee compliance with client needs and handover.
Skills & Qualifications
- BS/MS Degree in Data Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably as a consultant.
- In-depth experience in managing an enterprise Tableau instance, executing upgrades, launching new features and functionalities, developing and modifying Tableau reports and data sources.
- First-hand or certified experience in other BI tools and environments such as Power BI, Looker, Google Analytics and ThoughtSpot is advantageous.
- Proficient visualization skills with the ability to create visually appealing and highly functional dashboards; examples of dashboards or a public profile will be beneficial.
- Sound SQL experience; capability to create and maintain tables and views, comprehension of SQL best practice for query performance.
- Familiarity and experience in adhering to a structured development methodology - SDLC, Agile and robust project management skills.
- A self-starter able to function independently with minimal direction, interacting with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and documentation ethic.
- Desire to stay current with industry technologies and standards, particularly in the Tableau domain.
