We are seeking a capable Technical Lead for our System Engineering team to join us at our Mountain View office. The role involves utilizing requirement and data-driven methods to design and assess our autonomous systems. We utilize these outcomes to guide the development of our autonomous software, placing a high emphasis on ensuring the safety and comfort of our robotaxi customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing processes and tools for autonomous systems engineering through research
  • Building and leading a dynamic team of system engineers with a focus on autonomous systems and safety
  • Identifying and prioritizing issues found in driving data and collaborating with data scientists, software engineers, and test engineers to develop a strategy and process for safety and compliance evaluation
  • Cooperating closely with infrastructure and simulation teams to design, implement, and manage top-tier simulation-based tests and metrics
  • Taking the lead on safety validation and assurance initiatives within the organization, collaborating both internally and with external entities (OEM)

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Prior experience with autonomous driving systems
  • Skills in data mining and analysis with Python, SQL, or other languages using large datasets
  • Fundamental knowledge of software development and testing
  • At least 4 years of work experience related to autonomous driving systems
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage teams of technical experts

The projected salary range is $169,303 to $284,711, plus a bonus, equity, and benefits. The actual starting salary will be based on factors such as the exact work location, experience, training, and skill level. Therefore, it may be higher or lower than the range indicated in this job post. This role may also be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses and equities.
