About the Role: Technical Lead
Ardent is looking for a Technical Lead to join our team. This hybrid/remote position is based in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.
Position Description
As a Technical Lead, you will participate in large-scale software development efforts for the Department of Homeland Security. Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing features and enhancements for existing systems
- Creating ETL pipelines and scripts to transform data and ensure data integrity
- Integrating data pipelines into data warehouses for large volumes of data
- Designing and implementing reporting and analytics solutions for geospatial data
Key Responsibilities
- Participate and lead Government Agile Teams, following prescribed agile practices and sprint cadences
- Recommend architectural sprint points
- Engage in architectural review activities
- Ensure technical staff can implement agile practices effectively
- Act as backup Agile Team Lead when necessary
- Understand business and product requirements for analytics solutions
- Provide technical design, development, and implementation for large projects
- Define architecture requirements for data warehousing, analytics, and ETL solutions
- Develop strategic roadmaps aligning development efforts with mission outcomes
- Lead an integrated team of experts and IT specialists
- Serve as the primary technical resource for development and customer teams
- Prioritize group tasks, determine individual assignments, and review work of junior developers
- Provide technical guidance following industry best practices
- Interact with customers to meet objectives and requirements
- Work with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Customs and Border Protection Background Investigation (CBP BI)
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Software Engineering/Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 10 years in an IT team leadership role
- Experience in an Agile Scrum environment, user stories, and executing sprints
- Proficient with Atlassian Jira and Confluence
- Experience with analytics tools (Tableau Enterprise Server and/or PowerBI)
- Experience with Informatica PowerCenter or comparable platforms
- Experience in database or data warehouse design (Oracle preferred)
- Proficiency in Python or Jupiter Notebooks
- Strong English communication skills
