About the Role

The Technical Writer – Data Manager (TW-DM) will report to the Director of Quality Assurance. This role is integral to our success, providing direct support and guidance for business pursuits and projects within our Quality Policy. As a TW-DM, you will communicate complex system details to various stakeholders, ensuring the integrity and security of our information assets.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Writing and Support

  • Maintain local style guides and author, review, and edit technical documentation.
  • Identify and define audience goals, applying effective presentation techniques.
  • Establish content that meets end-user needs and elevates MDA's brand.
  • Utilize tools like MS Office365, SharePoint, Adobe, and Confluence.
  • Collaborate with Data Managers and Quality/Product Assurance Team Leads.
  • Translate user interface elements into understandable instructions.
  • Consult with subject matter experts for content development.
  • Provide proofreading services to ensure quality and consistency.

Data Management and Support

  • Manage local data stewardship and align data structures with enterprise policies.
  • Ensure data security and integrity through tight controls and retention practices.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Administer document management tools and train end-users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or a focus on English, writing, or communications.
  • Minimum of three years of technical writing experience.
  • Experience with certified quality management systems and security clearance environments is an asset.
  • Proficiency in creating infographics is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, Atlassian’s Confluence (JIRA), and other PLM systems is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Successful candidates must obtain and maintain secret-level security clearance and pass a security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

Compensation and Benefits

MDA offers competitive compensation and benefits, including comprehensive health care, dental and vision plans, disability income protection, life insurance, group retirement savings plans, and an employee and family assistance program. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $102,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
