In this position, you'll be responsible for both developing and maintaining our data and analytical payment applications. The role is a perfect blend, with approximately 50% hands-on technical work, including design and development, and 50% leadership responsibilities.

About this Opportunity

As the Capability Team Leader for Payments Data Software Development at Nordea, you will be pivotal in guiding a team of developers and data analysts, including both internal personnel and consultants. Your role will encompass strategic oversight and in-depth technical direction aimed at modernizing and further developing our data pipelines, utilizing both traditional batch methods (ETL/ELT) and modern streaming/event-based systems (Kafka).

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading and managing a team of Developers and Data Analysts.
• Acting as a technical mentor, fostering competence development and sharing knowledge within your team.
• Designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge data and analytical payment solutions.
• Driving initiatives to enhance capabilities within Payments Data Engineering.

Who You Are

To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate strong communication skills, an aptitude for coaching, conflict resolution, and the capability to manage challenging discussions effectively. We value collaboration, ownership, passion, and courage.

Your Experience and Background:

• Proficiency in Java and SQL.
• Experience with Kafka and expertise in classic ETL/ELT and data modelling.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, with a strong background in both cloud and on-premises solutions.
• A bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
