Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Managed Express Lanes Traffic specialist in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role entails serving as a Managed Express Lanes Traffic specialist for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) district's Transportation System Management & Operations (TSM&O) Unit projects, including but not limited to data management, analytics, and reporting, maintenance and construction management, and support for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects.
Specific duties include:
- Data collection, processing, analysis, and routine reporting.
- Gathering and correlating basic engineering data using well-defined procedures.
- Quality assurance and control for various elements of Intelligent Transportation Systems.
- Preparation and review of operational plans, documents, and related calculations.
- Coordinate closely and act as a liaison with external partners/agencies to ensure efficient incorporation of the TSM&O program objectives throughout the project delivery process.
- Assist in developing, operating, and managing a performance reporting system for current and future critical networks defined by the managed lanes program.
- Coordinate with other Department of Transportation offices within the districts.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + No experience or Associates degree + 2 years of experience or High School/GED + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Constant operation of a computer and other monitoring equipment.
- Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time monitoring Intelligent Transportation Systems such as CCTV camera displays, meters, law enforcement radio broadcasts, answering/responding to calls and communicating with other staff or partner agencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with traffic engineering concepts like roadway capacity analysis, operations impact assessments, benefit-cost analysis.
- Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems is preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and common computer applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proactive, strategic, and detail oriented.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate and lead multi-disciplinary meetings.
- Competency in task management and scheduling.
- Ability to work in a professional office environment.

- Exempt Position: The offered compensatory rate (only for [insert state] locations) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this role is $58,000 - $68,000.
