Transportation Engineer/Planner/Data Analyst

Noblis is actively searching for a dedicated Transportation Engineer to join our Surface Transportation Program. Are you passionate about pioneering automated and connected vehicle technology? Join our team of over 40 professionals supporting various research, development, and deployment initiatives for the USDOT. We focus on emerging technologies, including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), connected vehicles, automated vehicles, and other innovative mobility and smart community technologies. Our goal is to revolutionize travel to improve safety, mobility, and environmental sustainability.

This opportunity is ideal for someone experienced in transportation to support USDOT's ITS programs. Noblis offers strategic, technical, and programmatic support to the USDOT ITS Joint Program Office (JPO). Our work involves planning research activities, coordinating technology deployment programs, and fostering disruptive innovation to propel the future of surface transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze emerging transportation system technologies such as connected and automated vehicles, wireless communication technologies, integrated payment systems, data management systems, and advanced sensors.
  • Conduct user needs and requirements analyses.
  • Write research papers, economic analyses, training materials, and program evaluation reports.
  • Assist USDOT program managers with technical and programmatic activities.
  • Develop data analyses and visualizations using USDOT databases.
  • Prepare statements of work and Government cost estimates.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Systems Engineering, Transportation Engineering/Planning, Urban Planning, Operations Research, Economics, Public Policy, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of transportation experience.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong professional, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • U.S. citizen or green card holder.

Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to prepare and present technical documents, work independently, ensure quality, schedule, and budget objectives, interact with project teams, and identify solutions to program challenges.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with the following is advantageous:

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
  • Connected and/or automated vehicle technologies.
  • Benefit-cost analysis for transportation projects.
  • Data analysis and visualization tools.

Salary Range

At Noblis, we value your contributions and offer growth opportunities and support for your total well-being. Compensation factors include education, certifications, knowledge, skills, experience, location, and more. The salary range for this position is USD $74,500.00 - USD $130,400.00 /Yr. Full-time and part-time employees are eligible for various benefit programs based on their work hours.
