About Enterprise People Technology

The Enterprise People Technology team is pivotal in deploying and adopting new People technology across Walmart. As a Fortune #1 company, our impact spans millions of associates globally. We continually refine our technology to aid managers and associates in focusing on our primary goal—supporting our customers and members. This segment of Walmart Global Tech’s Enterprise Business Services encompasses finance, people, and the Associate Digital Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-performance, scalable solutions for big data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Design, build, test, and deploy cutting-edge data solutions at scale, impacting millions globally.
  • Ensure data quality and governance standards for People Data applications.
  • Collaborate with Walmart engineering teams worldwide to share expertise.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and ensure data accuracy through validation and cleaning processes.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in big data technologies and data pipelines.
  • Expertise in big data technologies such as Hadoop, Apache Spark (Scala preferred), Python, Apache Hive, and cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS, Azure).
  • Proficiency in workflow orchestrators like Airflow and writing SQL (BigQuery or SPARK SQL preferred).
  • Strong data modeling skills for designing adaptable schemas accommodating various data sources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
  • Experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
  • Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
