We are presently seeking a Project Manager located in Shetland to administer our array of wind projects in the Shetland Isles and bolster the business sector’s Project Delivery Unit. This team manages project execution for large-scale infrastructure renewable ventures of onshore wind in the UK. The Senior Project Manager within the team will be your reporting line.

Statkraft is currently in the process of locating suitable office premises in Lerwick.

Job Description

As a Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Managing several projects in Shetland at varying construction phases, including organization, leadership, and ensuring effective administration.
  • Coordinating the project team consisting of external consultants, contractors, and service providers.
  • Maintaining constant planning and monitoring of cost, time, and quality & providing project status reports to senior management.
  • Implementing Health, Safety, Security and Sustainability requirements and ensuring HSSS compliance, including monitoring and reporting on Project Health & Safety, and managing planning & environmental permit conditions for the project.
  • Guaranteeing internal communication, cooperation, and coordination among the different staff members and other parties associated with the Project (Region, Country, and Corporate).
  • Ensuring efficient and regular project meetings, and recording of minutes and agreed actions. This includes (but is not limited to) general internal project reporting, tracking of project expenditure & progress, tracking of project payments & variations and multiple project management document compilation and maintenance.
  • Having a comprehensive understanding of electrical infrastructure and managing the interface between civil and electrical BOP (Balance of Plant) and civil BOP and wind turbines.

Qualifications

  • University degree in engineering or natural sciences with documented extensive experience.
  • Experience in a similar role managing renewable energy development projects with a proven track record in delivering renewable/large scale infrastructure projects through construction.
  • Clear affinity with renewables with ideally relevant working experience in the renewable energy industry, particularly in the construction processes and environmental assessments of wind, solar, and other renewable energy projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in full responsibility for managing project budgets and schedules from early stage development to construction.
  • Strong technical understanding of renewable energy technology with experience in contracts and technical appendices for main technology supply contracts.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills, as well as good management skills including organizational ability and a target-oriented approach; demonstrated ability to prioritize.
  • Independent self-starter with a clear ability to manage a large workload, often providing support to processes managed by colleagues, while prioritizing tasks and effectively juggling competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Currently located in Shetland or willing to relocate or travel there.
