The business area European Wind and Solar (E) is responsible for development and ownership of wind and solar assets in Europe. This business area is also in charge of project execution for large projects in Statkraft, the group procurement function, and development of new business opportunities.

Currently, we are looking to hire a Project Manager based in the Shetlands to manage our portfolio of wind projects in the Shetlands and bolster the business area's Project Delivery Unit. This team is responsible for executing large-scale, infrastructure renewable projects for onshore wind in the UK. You will report to the Senior Project Manager within this team.

Job Description

Your main responsibilities as a Project Manager will be:

  • Management of several construction projects in the Shetlands at various stages of construction, comprising organizing, leading, and ensuring effective management and administration of the Project.
  • Coordinating project team including external consultants, contractors and service providers.
  • Continuous planning and follow-up of cost, time, and quality; and reporting project status to senior management.
  • Implementation of the Health, Safety, Security, and Sustainability requirements and ensuring compliance including Project Health & safety monitoring, reporting & development; as well as managing planning & environmental permit conditions for the project.
  • Ensuring smooth internal communication, cooperation, and synchronization among different staff members of the Project and other parties with interface to the Project (Region, Country and Corporate).
  • Ensuring efficient and regular project meetings and recording of minutes and agreed actions. This includes (but is not limited to) general internal project reporting, tracking of project spend & progress, tracking of project payments & variations, and various project documentation compilation and maintenance.
  • Having a comprehensive overview of electrical infrastructure and managing the interface between the civil and electrical BOP (Balance of Plant) and the civil BOP and wind turbines.

Qualifications

  • University degree in engineering or natural sciences with extensive documented experience.
  • Experience in a similar capacity of managing renewable energy development projects with a proven track record of delivering renewable/large scale infrastructure projects through construction.
  • Clear affinity with renewables and ideally relevant working experience in the renewable energy industry particularly with construction processes and environmental assessments of wind, solar, Battery & other renewable energy projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in full responsibility for management of project budgets and schedules from early stage development to construction.
  • Strong technical understanding of renewable energy technology with experience of contracts and technical appendices for main technology supply contracts.
  • Strong communication, relationship building and management skills, including organizational ability and a goal-oriented approach; demonstrated ability to prioritize.
  • An independent self-starter with a clear ability to manage a large workload, often providing support to processes managed by colleagues, while prioritizing tasks and effectively juggling competing deadlines.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Currently residing in the Shetlands or willing to relocate or commute there.
