IWK Health, a premier academic health sciences centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is currently seeking a dedicated Youth Care Worker I for our Adolescent Intensive Services (AIS) in the Mental Health and Addictions department. This full-time permanent position offers a chance to impact the lives of adolescents with significant mental health challenges.

As a Youth Care Worker I at AIS, you will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team focused on delivering comprehensive mental health and addictions treatment for adolescents aged 13-19. This role involves implementing personalized treatment plans, providing support and education to families, and assisting in our clients' overall improvement in home, school, and community settings.
Education: Undergraduate degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care Studies
Experience: Minimum one year, preferably 2-3 years, in direct mental health and addictions care to a youth population
Certifications: Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS)
Skills: Excellent decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills
