Our R&D team is comprised of seasoned scientists who are enthusiastic about pushing the boundaries of protein science and technology. We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic Data Science Intern to join our Bioprocessing team. The successful applicant will collaborate with bioprocess scientists to automate data export processes and assist in setting up systems to access and generate visualizations from Turtletree's data warehouse. The internship offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate at the intersection of Biology, data-science, and nutrition. The candidate can look forward to developing crucial analytical and research skills. Requirements Key Responsibilities: - Use Python to automate the export, cleaning, and upload of Bioprocess Data - Combine SQL and Python or other visualization tools to access SQL Data Warehouse, combine relevant data, and produce visualizations. - Work with Bioprocess Scientists to understand data requirements and propose solutions to enhance analysis speed and insights Requirements: - Current enrollment or soon to graduate from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field. Must have completed a minimum of 2 years in a bachelor program. - Strong academic background in Python, SQL, and database fundamentals - Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines - Strong communication skills along with the ability to work effectively in a team - On-Site Requirements: Candidate must be able to report to the Woodland CA office at least 2 days a week Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience accessing Structured relational databases with SQL - Experience in creating visualizations with Python or JMP - Preferred completion of Data Structures, along with proven project-based coding experience - Passion for biotechnology and nutrition Benefits Position Location: Woodland, CA Working hours per week: 30-40 Salary: $20-$25 Job Type: Internship Working Schedule: - 4 - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Monday to Friday
