You’ll play a key role in equipping Vector to withstand rising instances of extreme weather events and contribute to broader public policies and regulations. Given the innovative nature of this role, you should be ready for significant on-the-job learning and possess inherent leadership skills. Who we are looking for You may be studying computer science, mathematics with a data science focus, or engineering with solid programming skills. Post-graduate applications are highly welcome. You can comfortably work with data and code (Python is ideal). You thrive when challenged to learn quickly. You are at ease with the unknown, you can teach yourself new skills, and are adept at communicating, presenting, and collaborating with professionals from varied business backgrounds. Knowledge and experience in climate science, GIS, electricity networks, and back-end programming are valuable but not a prerequisite. We will support your development in these areas. You are motivated by the prospect of playing a crucial role in preparing Tamaki Makaurau and Aotearoa to adapt to climate change effects.
