The aim of our team is to develop, construct, and maintain a top-tier analytical data platform. As the main data center for the entire studio (as well as third parties), we offer both insights and data tools to advance our understanding of our players and their engagement with the game. Our team is divided into three core sections: Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science. In your role as a Junior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for creating algorithms and designing experiments that feed into data products supporting the games in terms of commerce, marketing, and gameplay. All this will be done under the supervision and mentorship of our senior data scientists. You will gain experience in predictive modeling, as well as machine and deep learning techniques. It will enable you to become a significant figure in the gaming data science domain. You'll be encouraged to propose new areas for investigation to boost player engagement and overall profitability. This role is central to our future data science operations, and as such, you will receive coaching and mentoring from our senior Data Scientists. You'll work closely with our data engineers and analysts to create and release systems that influence our games, players, and team. There's a fascinating dataset waiting to be discovered and utilized in endlessly captivating ways, with the data collected always changing and expanding. Your responsibilities will include: - Collaborating with data engineering teams to develop model deployments and data pipelines - Working with analysts to realize business questions and refine models - Closely partnering with the Studio to identify issues and use data to propose effective solutions - Keeping up with industry and data science standard technologies, and promoting them among the team when appropriate - Identifying new areas for exploration, combining game data with commercial, marketing, storefront, and various other sources - Coaching, mentoring, and helping to enhance data science capability within the organization Required skills and qualifications: - Solid understanding of python - Familiarity with machine and deep learning - Experience with modern machine learning and deep learning packages - Skills to design, develop, evaluate, deploy, and manage different models Helpful skills and qualifications: - Experience with applied statistics - Experience with big data ecosystems and infrastructure - Experience with AWS Company Overview: Jagex, a UK-based leader in creating deep and engaging experiences on PC and mobile, was established in 2001.
