Team Summary

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting department of Visa. We serve Visa’s clients (including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants) and address their strategic issues focused on performance and profitability enhancement. With our prowess in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, and macroeconomics, VCA produces substantial and concrete financial results.

You'll be part of the VCA Data Science geographic team cluster for India and South Asia (INSA) markets. You'll be responsible for supporting data science engagements with Visa’s clients. The team provides a comprehensive set of consulting services and data-driven solutions to our clients, addressing unique obstacles in areas like strategic growth, profitability, risk management, digital strategy, and portfolio management.

Senior Manager, Data Science role at Visa:

The Senior Manager will be a member of the VCA Data Science team in Asia Pacific and report to the Director / Sr Director in the India & South Asia (INSA) cluster. This position will be based in Visa’s office in Mumbai.

You will assist in the development and execution of analytics-driven strategies and high impact solutions for Visa's clients/Merchants. We're seeking previous experience in data science and data-based insights for addressing complex issues and unlocking business value. You'll also lead a team of 2-3 data scientists.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support and deliver data science engagements for India and South Asia clients/merchants with Visa data.
  • Create new data product/solutions for merchants, both bespoke and scalable data solutions.
  • Assist INSA leadership team with the data insights on strengths and opportunities for Visa in the market to help drive Overall Revenue, Cross-Border spend, and affluent spend.
  • Collaborate with Asia Pacific Internal Analytics Team on work-streams and best practices.
  • Create insights from storyboarding and dashboards and identify opportunities.
  • Clearly communicate findings, data-driven insights, and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistency, standards, & quality control of deliverables, keeping coding procedures and project documentation updated.
  • Understand client business requirements and effectively manage project deliverables end-to-end.
  • Assist in offering solutions to various clients and answering queries on a timely basis.
  • Monitor opportunities for innovation by using Visa data, client data, and non-traditional data sources to meet the needs of our clients.
  • Build a team that is highly motivated, engaged, and result-oriented.

This is an onsite position, requiring you to work consistently at an assigned Visa office, and will require a daily commute to the office location.

Qualifications

You will need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (a Master’s would be advantageous) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in data-based quantitative analysis.
  • Proficiency in Hive, SQL, Python, Spark, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Outstanding analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to solve business problems with data.
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A self-motivated individual with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Ability to take full responsibility and manage end-to-end deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Previous people leadership experience
  • Willingness to travel for business of 20% or more

You will be advantaged by:

  • Prior work experience in the payments and/or banking industry
  • Having experience in consulting space or working within a matrix team structure
