The Data Architect fuses both business and IT stakeholders to illustrate and mold a data landscape that underpins business interests while allowing effective IT data management.
In this role, you will offer enterprise data design, models, tools and directions to help business and IT understand how data is being used. This starts by establishing a strong semantic base and extends to identifying potential business process enhancements.
What’s the role?
As Data Architect, your key responsibilities include Critical Data List, Data Affinity Maps, Enterprise Data Catalogues, Conceptual & Logical Data Models, Data Principles, and Standards & Rails for a business portfolio (Sub Domain).
In this position, you will rely on your eagerness to bring enterprise data design to IT and business functions. You will also need a desire to steer IT-related business initiatives towards value-based results founded on well-delineated quality data.
You will have full ownership of a subdomain, serving as the central point for the Lead Architect, Lead Data Architect, Solution Architects.
Your responsibilities also include:
1. Articulate the direction of data architecture within the portfolio and what main business outcomes will be achieved.
2. Maintain the Enterprise Conceptual and Logical Models and ensuring project-related models remain aligned.
3. Understand the importance of Data Mastership and Data Flow mapping for the business, capturing both As-Is and To-Be states, and help identify the right data for the business.
4. Collaborate with Solution/Segment architects to review/approve data provisioning from a simplified access and governance standpoint and adopt Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) approach to enable effective re-use, provisioning and sharing of data across the business.
5. Provide solution architecture an understanding of how the project fits into the segment architecture. Ensure compliance and alignment of the project design.
What do we need from you?
We’re eager to hear from IT professionals with substantial experience in Enterprise Data Architecture and Data Modelling. Beyond that, we’d like to hear from individuals who have the following:
1. Knowledge of the business.
2. Demonstrated Core Enterprise Data Architecture skills including Data Analysis, Data Modelling (ERD), Big Data Design, Master Data Management patterns & implementation, Data Landscape Design (Data Flow, Mastership, API).
3. Broad comprehension of technologies involved in data management (Database management systems, data services, data lakes, etc.)
4. Proven knowledge of all architecture elements and the capacity to stay updated with key developments in IT - affinity with the other Enterprise Architecture domains (process, applications, infrastructure, security, etc.)
5. A delivery and result-oriented mindset with a hands-on approach with a vision for the long-term implications of short to intermediate term decisions.
6. Ability to initiate, plan and develop according to plan, along with the ability to adapt to the circumstances on the ground that may have a level of uncertainty and risk.
7. Experience in Data Modelling tools such as PowerDesigner.
8. While experience in working with Enterprise Architecture tools such as BiZZDesign is not required, it will be a plus in your application.
