What You'll Be Doing:
We are seeking an individual with industrial or commercial experience in data processing systems to contribute to this team. Ripjar appreciates Engineers who are considerate and thorough problem solvers capable of swiftly learning new technologies, ideas, and paradigms. You will be contributing production quality code and unit-tests to our Data Collection Hub as well as enhancing the test and build pipelines.
Key Tasks:
- Evaluating the effect and consequences of changes and clearly communicating them.
- Assisting in the support of data processing pipelines should they require.
- Modelling data in a way that best suits specific business needs.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in Data Engineering to contribute to Ripjar’s best practice.

Requirements:
Technology Stack
The specific technical skills you possess are not as important as your ability to comprehend intricate systems and unravel core issues. However, we expect that you are fluent in at least one programming language and have at least two years of experience working with moderately complex software systems in production, and have a curiosity and inclination to learn more.
- You will use Python (specifically pyspark) and Node.js for data processing.
- You will use Hadoop stack technologies such as HDFS and HBase.
- Experience with MongoDB and Elasticsearch for indexing smaller datasets would be beneficial.
- Experience with Airflow & Nifi to coordinate data processing would be helpful.
- You will use Ansible to manage configuration and deployments.
