The Data Engineering function in Quantexa's R&D department was established in 2019 to develop data engineering tools and best practices for use on Quantexa projects. After a successful first year, the scope of the team has expanded and is now known as the Data Engineering & Demos team, with three distinct sub-teams:
Data Engineering Accelerators are responsible for developing Quantexa's standard code for cleansing, parsing, and standardising data used in entity resolution. They identify efficiency/performance improvements through big data testing and construct performance tools while also maintaining best practices in entity resolution and network building.
The Trials team own the Quantexa Trial platform, the first point of contact for prospective clients to see the product in action using real data. They also work with data from various third-party/open source data providers and are accountable for developing and maintaining of Quantexa's data packs.
The Demos team develops, deploys, and maintains all Quantexa demos to showcase the different uses for the Quantexa Platform. They also implement cutting-edge new features developed by core R&D and design and build demos for novel use cases of the platform, opening up new markets for Quantexa.
More information on the day-to-day activities of these three sub-teams is available on request. The teams work together closely and team members can rotate between teams to facilitate knowledge sharing and personal development.
As a Data Engineering Accelerator at Quantexa, we are looking for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, Agile environment and who possess a strong coding background, ideally in Scala. You should also have big data experience, either from deployment or data science standpoint.
We require applicants to have a track record in building data processing pipelines for use in production batch systems as well as experience in manipulating data to improve data quality and integrity.
