As a member of the Vehicle Motion, Comfort and Energy Efficiency team, you will be tasked with creating speedy machine learning models for our electric autonomous vehicles. Your work will concentrate on the energy consumption and efficiency at various levels of the vehicle - be it the whole system or just a single component. As our custom-made robotaxi fleet grows and spreads to various markets, your methods and data-driven models will aid in improving our predictions for vehicle range and efficiency across different cities, drive cycles and assorted boundary conditions. Furthermore, they'll facilitate the development of ultra-fast online predictors (horizon models) within our software. Not only will this enhance our comprehension and reduction of energy usage for a single vehicle, but it will also boost uptime and operational efficiency for our entire fleet. Technical Qualifications & Language Requirements: - You are pursuing a degree in Electrical, Energy/Power, Vehicle/Automotive or Controls Engineering (or related field) - Knowledge of Python/C++ - Previous experience in energy modeling of electric autonomous vehicles, including electric powertrains and other high and low-voltage energy consumers - Familiarity with machine learning algorithms (e.g. neural networks), working with time series vehicle test data, and MATLAB/Simulink - Bonus/Nice-to-Have: Experience in Energy & Power Management Control Strategies Compensation: The monthly salary range for this position is from $6,500 to $9,500. Compensation is contingent upon role, degree level and type, with benefits offered based on eligibility. Additional benefits could include health insurance, 401k, and housing stipend. Vaccine Mandate: Employees fulfilling this role will need to have received a vaccine approved by either the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or the World Health Organization. Employees eligible for a COVID-19 booster vaccine ("Booster") will also be required to get one.
