Our multicultural workplace boasts over 20 nationalities and is committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion. We prioritize well-being and offer social events, digital learning, career development programs, and much more.
If you're up for joining a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to revolutionizing real estate, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Now, let's talk about the role.
This is a fully remote position, meaning you can be based anywhere in the UK. We seek an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. You'll be reporting directly to the Head of Data Engineering and be responsible for large production code bases, taking on tasks related to software architecture designs and reviews. While the role involves a lot of hands-on coding and doesn't include people management, you'll be expected to mentor other engineers.
The Data Engineering team, along with the Frontend, Backend, and DevOps teams, is at the heart of everything we do at Plentific. We constantly confront challenging issues such as online payments, quoting, invoicing, booking, search/scoring algorithms, ETL, data pipelines, in-app messaging, Public APIs, ML/AI, real-time notifications, and fraud prevention.
The team mainly focuses on production Machine Learning systems, the data warehouse, Public APIs, real-time data pipelines, LLM's, AI in general, and our flagship interactive analytics module, 'Advanced Analytics'. Virtually all code thus far has been written in Python and SQL.
Our tech stack uses AWS, Kubernetes, Django, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, ElasticSearch, dbt, Looker, scikit-learn, FastAPI, Celery, Jenkins, and GitHub.
Moving on to Responsibilities.
As the Senior Software Engineer, you'll be in charge of large production codebases and will take part in designing and reviewing software architecture. The role necessitates a considerable amount of coding and doesn't require managing people; however, you will have the chance to mentor junior engineers. You must have a steadfast interest in learning and remain up-to-date with technology. Interaction with senior members of the entire engineering organization is a given on a daily basis.
You will be a significant contributor to the Plentific codebase and must be comfortable managing production systems from design to implementation, to release and maintenance. Collaboration with Product stakeholders is necessary for understanding, developing, and implementing cutting-edge solutions that impress our customers. You will be instrumental in implementing best coding practices, documentation, reviews, unit and integration testing, data quality and security, and performance.
Let's talk about skills and qualifications.
You must have excellent Python and SQL skills, and you should be open to learning other programming languages. An active interest in learning and developing AI-powered systems (like LLM-based) is necessary. You should be a self-starter who takes responsibility for your work, accepts direction and feedback from coworkers and managers, and is willing to put anyone's good idea into action. Excellent communication skills in English are a must.
You must have 5+ years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer. Experience with Machine Learning is critical, as we are expanding our capabilities in this area.
What benefits do we offer?
As you can see, we have ambitious plans quickly progressing, and we're keen on growing our team to manage more than 2 million properties through our platform across several countries. You will get the opportunity to shape the future of property management all over the world. Here’s what we offer:
A competitive compensation package, a flexible working environment along with 25 days of annual holiday, private health care inclusive of discounted gym membership, enhanced parental leave, life insurance, an employee assistance program, a company volunteering day and charity salary sacrifice scheme, an SAP Litmos Learning management system, a learning and development fund, a referral bonus (and a charity donation if your referral joins us), season ticket loan, Cycle to work, Electric vehicle, and Techscheme programs, a pension program with 3% employer contribution and 5% employee contribution, a weekly lunch of your choice for office-based employees, regular company-sponsored lunches, dinners, and social gatherings, and a fully stocked kitchen with beverages, snacks, fruits, breakfast cereal, among others.
