Job Description

• Design, develop, and optimise big data processing pipelines using Apache Spark.
• Create and deploy machine learning models for predictive analytics, recommendation systems, and other data-driven applications.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and data quality problems in the Spark ecosystem.
• Conduct thorough Spark application testing and debugging to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you require:

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience with Big Data, Hadoop, and SQL.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Apache Spark, including Core, Streaming, and SQL.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing big data processing pipelines using Spark.
• Solid ability in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
• Experience with ETL processes and tools.
• Ability to build next-generation libraries, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Capability to develop data engineering components and applications, enabling self-service for big data products.
• Leadership skills to guide complex and technically challenging projects from conception to completion.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with distributed computing frameworks such as Hadoop, HBase, or Cassandra.
• Knowledge of stream processing frameworks like Apache Kafka or Apache Flink.
• Experience with Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Understanding of data governance, privacy, and security principles in big data environments.
• Contributions to the AI/ML community would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their big data services is a plus.
• Insights into AI/ML algorithms and techniques would also be advantageous.
