In this role, you will have the chance to work closely with our customers in the public sector. Your responsibilities will include generating new business by identifying profitable opportunities, maintaining your client portfolio by establishing strong, long-lasting relationships, and tracking the progress of projects, with the express purpose of providing exceptional client service and value-added services.
What will you be bringing to the team?
- Defining relevant re-analysed data streams and climate scenarios to assist in assessments as requested by partner DGs and scientific collaborations.
- Preparing pan-European scenarios for freshwater quantity (LISFLOOD) and quality (SWAT) in relation to anticipated measures, and future alterations in climate, demography, and land use.
- Managing data streams and computational resources using scripts and programming languages.
- Developing and maintaining model code and analysis scripts.
- Coordinating and reviewing output requests.
- Reporting on model scenarios and findings, including regional outputs.
- Analyzing water use output in relation to reported data.
- Assisting in the debugging of the model and quality checking of model results.
- Interaction with business analysts, customers, users, project leaders and developers.
Requirements
What do you need to succeed in this role?
- Advanced understanding of water quality and modeling; hands-on experience in providing quality control for the application of water quantity and quality process models in river basins and at a continental scale.
- Understanding of spatial geographical and hydrological data.
- Knowledge of the main development languages used (R, Python).
- Practical experience in statistical and risk analysis on processing geo-spatial data using R, Python, CDO.
- Good knowledge of quality assessments and quality control tests during the application of water quantity and quantity models.
- Ability to carry out statistical and risk analyses on processing geo-spatial data using R, Python, CDO.
- Ability to provide assistance in the efficient and rapid implementation of water quantity and quality software.
- Ability to deliver business and technical presentations, including creating custom graphics for presentation and publication.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies used in computing, modelling, and data analysis.
- Ability to write clear and structured technical documents in English.
