Job Description
The Automotive Electronics (AE) division develops new electronic control units (e.g., for combustion engines, comfort functions, airbags) and a broad range of sensors (e.g., for battery charge state, inertial, yaw-rate, pressure, NOx) in close partnership with manufacturing. These products are engineered to a state-of-the-art level in both technology and reliability and can be found in cars from a very large group of manufacturers.
Tasks:
► Analyze substantial datasets acquired during the development and production of automotive sensors, select the appropriate machine learning algorithm to generate intelligent solutions and to enhance decision making, taking into account customer specifications, reliability theory, automotive standards, and legal regulations
► Design and optimize both data acquisition processes and data analytics workflows
► Initiate open discussions, deliver clear communication and answers with your data, meet project timelines and quality expectations, and produce reports in English
► Improve analytics workflows continually regarding performance based on user feedback
► Collaboratively share methods with your internal and external partners in manufacturing, and sensor development (e.g., validation and reliability engineers, data engineers/analysts). Work within an international team.

Qualifications
Expectations:
► MSc or PhD in computer science, mechatronics, electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent
► Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, tensorflow, keras) and SQL
► Solid background and experience in data mining workflow and machine learning algorithms development
► Good communication and presentation skills
► Exceptional statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
► Knowledge of version control (git)
► Precise working style, capable planning, time management and organizational skills, active task tracking
► Ability to work individually and in international teams, share ideas
► Being self-initiative, open, innovative, and demonstrate a growth mindset
► Proficient in English
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
► Relevant experience in an engineering field
► Experience with APIs of the Hadoop ecosystem
► MATLAB, C#, Scala Programming skills
► Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Spotfire, PowerBI)
► Experience with cloud computing (Azure)
► Proficiency in German
