We are seeking engineers with hands-on electrical design experience. If you have designed an electrical system, understand the critical equipment needs for a data center, and are aware of the constructability of various designs, you might be a good fit. As we grow, we are structuring our team to conduct more of our engineering in-house. Engineers will be responsible for taking designs from concept to permit and construction document set. You should be capable of defining critical equipment specifications and approving equipment submissions. Engineers will directly support construction, from site selection review to commissioning and ultimately turnover. Amazon has a global presence. This position, being based out of Austin, TX, requires travel to our data centers (located in Northern Virginia and throughout the AMER region), annual team off-sites and vendor factory visits. Travel could constitute up to 20% of your time.

Responsibilities include data center electrical designs, creating designs which meet our quality and budgetary requirements, compliance with federal, state and municipal building codes, and approval of equipment submissions. You will also provide technical support for information requests prior to and during the construction, working with commissioning teams to test and validate electrical systems and manage multiple projects in various regions.
