Job Description

Our engineering organization is structured with small, interdisciplinary teams where Engineers, Product Managers, and Product Designers work closely to solve customer problems. Each team owns a part of our business and takes care of it, from proposing features to analyzing usage.

The Data Engineering Platform Team believes that data and business intelligence are key to the success of our customers and our company. R&D and all business departments should be capable of making data-informed decisions and choices to ensure the health and growth of our company.

We are searching for an experienced engineer who wishes to grow as a people leader. Engineering Team Leads at SmartRecruiters spend around half of their time managing people and working with stakeholders, and the other half of their time designing and developing products. Team Leads represent their teams externally, assist others with growth, and ensure the team's discovery and delivery tasks run smoothly.

What will you do:

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, Product Analysts and other stakeholders to build and maintain the foundation for our business intelligence operations
  • Supervise roadmap discovery and delivery
  • Take ownership of the designated services
  • Advocate engineering excellence within the team
  • Guide and motivate other engineers
  • Contribute to the full life-cycle of the product (including problem identification, prototyping, design, implementation, and measuring adoption)
  • Develop services using relevant technologies.

Qualifications

  • Experience in designing and managing data engineering technology stacks including warehousing and visualization tools
  • Experience in supporting the complete product lifecycle (from product discovery, solutioning, system design, implementation, to production rollout and optimization)
  • Passionate about supporting team members in their career growth
  • Excellent technical project management and communication skills
  • Strong grasp of agile processes and techniques
  • A good understanding of at least one of the programming languages like Java, Javascript, Python or others as relevant
  • Profound domain modeling skills - including refactoring existing domains
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
