Job Description

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the High School Data Manager is tasked with managing and maintaining essential school data, testing, and scheduling systems at KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy (KDCA), serving over 500 students in grades 9-12. This is a full-time position that continues for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

Scheduling & Coverages

  • Serve as the primary scheduler; create, fine-tune and adjust as necessary, the daily course and bell schedule for the school, as well as individual schedules for each student
  • Manage and respond to schedule change requests from students and their families
  • Handle planned and spontaneous teacher absences, coordinate with leaders, teachers and substitute agencies to ensure lesson materials are ready and substitute teachers are set up for success
  • Maintain KDCA’s relationship with the substitute agencies they work with

Testing Coordination

  • Perform the role of the school’s Testing Coordinator, ensuring all local, state and national testing conform to state/national standards, including but not restricted to—
    • Testing material storage and distribution
    • Testing scheduling and logistics
    • Testing participation rates
  • Ensure all staff are trained and ready to administer tests following state/national standards; ascertain that testing communication is clear, succinct, and timely
  • Monitor and manage late testing and testing for absent students

Database Management & Data Analysis

  • Manage and maintain main school data systems (including PowerSchool, DeansList, Scholarchip, staff and student Google accounts), guaranteeing functionality and correctness
  • Work closely with the Assistant Principal of Student Experience to generate and monitor student data reports and procedures
  • Provide the necessary training to teachers/staff on using these systems, create new accounts when needed
  • Offer responsive troubleshooting and support to students or staff members confronting technical issues
  • Generate, print and distribute weekly reports associated with key school initiatives or statistics
  • Analyze data, proactively identify problematic trends and propose solutions

Serve as a member of the Operations Team

  • Act as an active member of the KDCA operations team, assisting the team with other tasks and responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience with school database management and reporting is preferred
  • High level of comfort with Microsoft Excel and other databases
  • Ability to make excellent judgments in decision-making
  • Strong communication skills and follow-through
  • Capability to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including peers, students, families, and partner organizations
  • Resourceful thinker with a focus on problem solving and taking initiative
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and implement feedback

Additional Information

Compensation

  • The range for this position starts at $60,000 and is commensurate with experience.
