Job Number: 1444 In the Engineering and Support Solutions (ESS) directorate of Riverside Research, we conduct Research and Development of cyber-physical attacks against embedded systems. As a Microelectronics Security Data Scientist, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team of research engineers and scientists on a wide variety of microelectronics research projects. You will work with a team of hardware security research subject matter experts, the senior Principal Investigator, Technical Lead, and Program Manager to support various project-specific research commitments and provide value to our customers. You will contribute to the development of our government customer and our internal R&D capability to help advance the edge in data science. This position is based in Dayton, OH and requires Top Secret security clearance. Remote work is not available for this role. Travel is not anticipated to exceed two to four times per year. Job Responsibilities - Work closely with customers, research partners and Riverside Research business, engineering, and technology teams. - Work with variable-scale complex data sets and solve difficult analysis challenges associated with the scope of program research. - Implement end-to-end analysis including data gathering, requirements specification, processing, and results analysis. - Develop papers and presentations of analysis when requested by the customer. - Conduct research in advanced analytics including deep learning and complex statistical data analysis. - Communicate analysis and findings with our customer and research partners at both virtual and in-person meetings. - Develop analysis, forecasting, and optimization methods to provide business solutions to clients. - Propose areas for internal capability development and new areas of work related to the program scope and latest data science developments. - Provide thought leadership in algorithmic and process innovations. - Plan, lead, and execute technical resource application to the project and manage and communicate deliverable status and timelines with management. - Mentor junior researchers to enhance their technical skills and development as scientific researchers. - Execute other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications - Active DoD Top Secret or equivalent US Government security clearance - Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline and 5 years’ experience or Master’s Degree in a quantitative discipline and 3 years’ experience or a PhD in a related discipline. - Experience with machine learning. - Proficiency in Python, C / C++, or Matlab. - Experience in AI / Deep Learning for data analytics. - Ability to run standard model algorithms in Python to perform classification/regression, clustering, basic text analytics, image recognition, etc. - Experience with machine learning software and development languages to build and automate data pipeline supporting research data analysis. - Ability to manage timelines, product delivery, and product quality. - Ability to work individually in a multi-discipline team with minimal supervision. - Willingness to work on-site in a cleared US Government facility. Desired Qualifications - Master’s degree or PhD in Applied Mathematics or Statistics. - Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar Machine Learning framework. - Experience with parallel and distributed processing of large data sets. - Experience using revision control software.
