About the position:

Reporting to the director of strategic intelligence, the successful candidate uses advanced data analytics, reporting, and visualization tools to give our business and products a competitive edge. This involves understanding and managing data and their interconnection, as well as structuring data for opportunities in strategic intelligence and self-service business analysis. This position requires a person who has business acumen, experience in data modeling, analysis and visualization, and enjoys defining a problem, developing and fine-tuning solutions, and contributing to their implementation.

The ideal candidate must show initiative, critical thinking, and a keen interest in applying new technologies and data analysis and visualization methods to help address the company's core questions.

Location, travel and office attendance requirements:

AlayaCare offers a flexible hybrid work model, which involves regular employee presence at the nearest office, while offering some flexibility for remote work. Our team encourages in-person collaboration and, therefore, the successful candidate for this position will preferably be in the Greater Montreal or Greater Toronto region.

Travel may be required (approx. 5% of the time) for quarterly planning meetings or finance team events/summits.

Your responsibilities:

  • Automate report creation for the management team and board of directors.
  • Extract, transform and load data from multiple sources
  • Develop scalable and reusable data models
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data from our various platforms (e.g., HubSpot, NetSuite, Zendesk, Jira, etc.)
  • Design and implement accessible and impactful visual presentations that clearly communicate results, elucidate patterns, promote accountability, generate actionable insights, and facilitate decision-making
  • Support the integration of event tracking data from multiple platforms
  • Write technical and user documentation
  • Provide concise and relevant reports to cross-functional teams
  • Lead, plan and execute strategic intelligence projects to achieve company objectives
  • Design, develop and implement powerful strategic intelligence solutions based on the company's needs
  • Formulate ideas and submit effective business recommendations to various stakeholders based on data.
  • Help operational units make informed decisions and understand the ins and outs through data analysis and visual storytelling.
  • Implement best practices in strategic intelligence throughout the project lifecycle
  • Contribute to identifying the business data needed to achieve the best understanding and most useful analyses.
  • Train end users on strategic intelligence tools and data models to enable them to analyze available data and create their own dashboards
  • Stay up to date with current and emerging technologies and tools
  • Manage, where appropriate, escalations from the business or less experienced colleagues

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or advanced degree with a mix of relevant experience
  • More than 4 years of experience in strategic intelligence development, data modeling and dashboard development
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with SQL
  • Excellent understanding of key data modeling concepts such as dimensions, measures, aggregation, cardinality, etc.
  • Knowledge of Looker and Snowflake
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Prior experience with ETL tasks
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written) to collaborate, communicate and present examples at different levels (technical or not), including to management teams and senior executives.
  • Knowledge of statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SAS) is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git Hub repository, and other DevOps tools are a plus.
  • Ability to transform complex analytical results into actionable business initiatives and reports
