Job Description What's the role? We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Software Engineer to join our Delivery Accuracy team within our Fulfillment initiative. In this position, you will delve into the subtleties of Etsy's fulfillment data to create machine learning solutions that provide real-world projections for complex calculations such as delivery speed and cost. You'll collaborate closely with Full Stack Engineers and Machine Learning Engineers to bridge the gaps between data capture and its utilization in model creation that benefit end users. Your team and you will manage all aspects of fulfillment-related machine learning model development: conceiving, training, testing, launching, monitoring, and optimizing. This is a permanent job, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager of Core Fulfillment, with an annual base salary of between $164,000 and $192,000. Besides your salary, you'll also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family. This role necessitates your presence in Etsy's Brooklyn office, either in-person or in a flexible capacity. Preference may be given to candidates living within commuting distance of the Brooklyn Hub. The Delivery Accuracy team is part of the Core Fulfillment initiative, which aids sellers in managing and fulfilling their orders, while also setting buyer expectations around fulfillment to enable well-informed purchasing decisions. The Delivery Accuracy team is dedicated to using data to ensure the fulfillment guarantees we give to buyers meet meticulous standards and expectations. What does the day-to-day look like? Your tasks will include close collaboration with Engineers, Product Managers, and Data Analysts to build solutions that help sellers enhance their businesses and stay competitive, and working together with our cross-functional teams within Etsy. You will develop innovative responses to complex business problems, and oversee the quality of your work through performance monitoring tools and testing. You will establish and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for fulfillment machine learning. This is just an example of the type of work this role will demand! Your role may encompass other tasks too, and your job duties and responsibilities may change periodically as per Etsy's discretion or as applicable by local law. Qualifications Qualities that will help you excel in this role include experience with using public cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure, and infrastructure tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and so on. You should have a proven history of collaboration with distant technical and non-technical teams, experience with production systems with machine learning models at scale, and an interest in contemplating the impact of your work on end users. You should be comfortable working with Product Managers to develop impactful product features, have excellent communication skills, and be invested in Etsy's vision, mission, and values.
