Humana's Provider Attribution team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer 2 for a remote position anywhere in the US. Provider Attribution pertains to assigning patients to a specific provider or team of providers with the aim of identifying which providers have previously provided care to our members and which are likely to do so in the future. This team and the Provider Attribution process are vital components for clinical member and provider engagement, incentives, and network programs designed to influence member care and outcomes, improve and gather required documentation for precise reimbursement, enhance efficiency in the health care delivery system, and create reward and incentive schemes for providers.

Responsibilities

As a team member, you will perform data analysis, develop algorithms and models, and present technical information to a broad audience. You will consult with customers to identify business needs and guide the development of business solutions. You will provide guidance and support in developing business requirements and solutions, offer actionable information, and ensure enterprise-wide consistency in analytics and reporting.

  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all projects, processes, and scripts

  • Consult with customers to understand business needs and translate needs into technology and analytic solutions

  • Design, develop, and deliver user specification into automated database solutions. Ensuring quality, functionality, reliability, and usability using the best technology to meet business needs

  • Perform architecture design, concept prototyping, development of coding standards, automated testing scripts development, and data solution debugging

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of performance in the attribution models to identify trends and outliers

  • Provide analytical support to the provider network and engagement teams to identify optimization opportunities

  • Utilize data to analyze and answer questions regarding metric variances

  • Review, analyze, and modify programming systems as needed

  • Create customized reports and communicate findings and recommendations with business partners and/or senior leaders

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of data analysis experience

  • 1+ years of SQL experience

  • Proficiency in evaluating intricate data sets and performing root cause analysis

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

  • Passionate about contributing to an organization that prioritizes continuous improvement of consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, charts, graphs, etc.

  • Azure Synapse Analytics platform

  • Python experience
  • Ability to use data to influence business outcomes and decisions

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • To guarantee the effectiveness of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates, their self-provided internet service must meet certain criteria:
    • A minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
    • Wireless, Wired Cable, or DSL connection is suggested.
    • Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections can only be used if they provide an optimal connection for associates. Use of these methods must be approved by leadership.  (See Wireless, Wired Cable, or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)
    • Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, except for associates who live or work from home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates in these states will receive a bi-weekly payment for their internet expenses.
    • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment suitable to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
    • Working from a dedicated space free of ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range shown below is based on a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location, and individual pay decisions will vary depending on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$65,000 - $89,500 per year


 

This job qualifies for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is dependent on the company and/or individual performance.
