The company offers a location positioning SDK that uses Machine Learning to precisely validate users’ location in both indoor and outdoor environments. Bespot SDK accomplishes world-class indoor location accuracy.

Utilizing proprietary location, transactional and other company data, Bespot’s platform aids companies in unveiling valuable customer insights. We provide access to footfall trends, live heatmaps, consumer preferences, and other insights concerning physical stores and brands.

In the past 3 months, Bespot has served more than 3500 POIs daily (stores), 1M app installations and over 150M monthly transactions to confirm location. The company has raised more than 1M funding to this point and is now in the process of Series A funding to expand to new markets.

What is the mission of this role

As a Data Engineer at Bespot, your role is indispensable in accomplishing our mission. You will have a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of the data architecture and infrastructure that supports our ecosystem. You will work closely with our data analysts, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to ensure that data is collected, stored, and made easily accessible for analysis and decision-making.

How you will contribute to the company as a Data Engineer:

You’ll be part of the Data team reporting to the Data Product Manager. We follow Agile methodologies for development cycles including all standard ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Retrospective meetings, etc).

As a Data Engineer at Bespot, your daily tasks will include:

Data Modeling: Create and maintain data models which support the organization's analytical and reporting needs.
Data Architecture: Contribute to the design and evolution of our data architecture, ensuring it aligns with the organization's long-term goals.
Data Integration: Integrate third-party data sources, APIs, and real-time data streams to expand our data assets.
Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to collect, process, and transform data from assorted sources. Ensure data quality and integrity through data profiling, testing, and validation.
Data Warehouse Management: Build and oversee data warehouses and databases, optimizing performance while ensuring data security and adherence to best practices.
Collaboration: Work together with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and assure the availability of data for their analysis and reports.
Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring systems to oversee data pipeline performance and proactively resolve issues. Continuously optimize data processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Stay up to date with emerging data technologies and trends, and suggest ways to enhance our data infrastructure

What does the recruitment process look like ?

• You will first have an introductory chat with our People Operations manager (30 min)

• The subsequent step involves completing a home assignment followed by a debriefing session with our data team (45 min).

• You will have a final discussion with our CEO & CDO (20 min)

What does the onboarding period include:

During the onboarding period, you will receive extensive training and support to acquaint yourself with our data, systems, technologies, development practices, and team processes. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced team members who will guide you through the learning process. The aim of this period is to ensure a seamless transition into your role as a Data Engineer at Bespot.
