Data Engineering Manager - Data Services

About the Role
We are seeking an expert Data Engineering Manager to join our team in Hyderabad. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with business partners, data scientists, and IT teams to develop and implement top-tier data products and solutions. You will also act as a hands-on engineer managing data curation, quality, and standards.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess deep domain expertise in Commercial Operations, Sales & Marketing, and experience in the Pharma/Life Science industry.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create and implement world-class data products and solutions.
- Act as a hands-on engineer in curating data, onboarding data assets into the FAIRification process, and managing data quality and standards.
- Understand enterprise-approved schema, tools, and platforms to deliver high-quality, clean, and linked data across projects.
- Manage the quality and consistency of NBS CONEXTS data services for all partners.
- Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements, continuously improving quality-relevant processes within the area of responsibility.
- Deliver on data strategy priorities and DLC activities in an AGILE manner with proper documentation and communication.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Master's/PhD in Computer Sciences, IT, or other quantitative sciences.
- 7+ years of experience in a global company as a data steward, engineer, modeler, or data scientist.
- Business understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and data standards.
- Domain expertise in at least one of the following: Pharma R&D, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Supply Chain, or Marketing and Sales.
- Understanding of various data modeling methodologies including conceptual, logical, and physical modeling.
- Experience with data wrangling, ingestion, unification, anonymization, search, Master & Meta Data Management, and governance.
Desirable Requirements
Additional skills that are beneficial include:
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes and programming/scripting skills (Python).
- Experience in Master Data Management and data quality controls.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in Scrum methodology.
- Knowledge of the big data ecosystem, AWS, AZURE stack, and NLP basics.
