Job Description

The Auto sector within Epsilon propels growth for major entities in the automotive industry, from Original Equipment Manufacturers to small and large dealers in the US and Canada. Being a part of a global team of 1,600 members, the sector offers the automotive world's largest service reminder platform, along with agency services and digital media solutions. A pioneer in the automotive industry, the team supports over half of the dealers in the U.S. and manages more than 280 million customer vehicle relations. Our Auto team fosters innovative ideas, utilises the latest technology and is always at the forefront of learning. The Manager, Data Engineering, oversees data management/governance initiatives from inception to completion, providing clients and key stakeholders with actionable data pipeline results and insights that assist in achieving their business goals.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall management of Data and Analytics projects, including time frames, quality, and client value. Ensure data and report accuracy through QA/QC.
  • Assist in drawing up innovative plans to address significant areas of data management and governance improvements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to set strategic direction and conduct analysis by qualitatively and/or quantitatively examining data/information.
  • Execute data manipulations using tools such as BigQuery, SAS/ACCESS, and Tableau.
  • Prepare reports, programs, and other deliverables that reveal insights for crafting business recommendations based on data findings.
  • Prioritize and monitor project progress against priorities and track budgeted hours.
  • Present reports to internal and external key stakeholders, effectively communicating key findings and recommendations.
  • Handle multiple projects and resources simultaneously to ensure successful completion of data analytic projects.
  • Supervise junior staff, who will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage data logistics, including data transfers, comprehension of data structures and flows, business rules, etc., facilitating project execution.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff members and project team colleagues.
  • Always concentrated on meeting clients' primary needs, adding value, and exceeding expectations.
  • Establish a trusted working relationship with all stakeholders and team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a Quantitative Discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Management or Data Engineering Teams.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on coding experience in SAS (Base, Macros, ODS, Access), and SQL.
  • Over 6 years of advanced database knowledge in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing, mentoring, and developing junior data engineers.
  • Sound knowledge of ETL Process, Data Hub/Lakes/Mart/Mesh, and Data Democratization.
  • Familiarity with BigQuery, Apache Hive, and Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Automotive Industry or Marketing data is beneficial.
  • Excellent communicative and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to build a trusted working relationship with clients.
  • Flexibility to work in a virtual environment with stakeholders in US time zones.
  • Proven technical acumen and strong learning mindset.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to get work done.
