Your Role

As part of our ML Engineering team, you'll be responsible for architecting productionalized solutions around rules-based and AI/ML models. Your goal is to integrate predictions seamlessly into business processes while ensuring governance, resiliency, explainability, reproducibility, and scalability of the models. We seek a highly skilled ML Platform Engineer to optimize machine learning systems at the intersection of ML, DevOps, and data engineering (MLOps).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and consult with business stakeholders and data science teams to define data engineering and MLOps requirements.
• Transform business and data science prototypes by applying appropriate algorithms and tools.
• Solve complex problems with multi-layered data sets and optimize existing machine learning libraries and frameworks.
• Develop reusable data and feature stores for rules-based and AI/ML models.
• Create alerting tool frameworks for monitoring production model performance and effectiveness.
• Automate deployments by incorporating MLOps best practices into production solutions.
• Document frameworks and machine-learning processes.
• Build simple front-end reporting solutions for shipboard engineers to consume the insights (web app development).

Your Profile

Required Skills:

• Good conversational English (B2, C1, C2)
• 4-6 years of professional experience relevant to the role
• Experience in building scalable machine learning systems and data-driven products, working with cross-functional teams
• Well-developed software engineering fundamentals, including proper development, QA, and production environments
• Ability to write production-level code when needed
• Experience in creating Python packages
• Proficiency in Python and experience with common data analytics packages (e.g., Numpy, Pandas, Sklearn, PySpark)
• Proficiency in Databricks & MLFlow
• Proficiency in SQL
• Good communication skills and ability to understand and synthesize requirements across multiple project domains
• Effective team player with cross-functional teams

Desired Skills:

• Experience in Python or JavaScript web app development
• Experience in a large corporation or consulting firm
• Experience with IoT and/or sensor data
