Master Thesis Opportunity in AI Image Recognition
We offer a chance to write your master's thesis with us, delving into the innovative and future-focused field of AI image recognition. Specifically, you will explore the development of an automated quality inspection system for forged components.
Thesis Focus Areas:
- Investigating the current state of research and OTTO FUCHS's existing AI technologies for quality inspection.
- Working closely with process experts to capture relevant production processes and identify specific requirements.
- Collaborating with hardware specialists to select appropriate measurement technologies.
- Gathering and preprocessing relevant image data of forged components to create a high-quality dataset for model development.
- Developing and training AI models using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and other ML algorithms for automatic quality feature recognition (anomaly detection, object detection, classification).
- Analyzing results, visualizing model performance, identifying error patterns, and optimizing to improve model outcomes.
- Creating a functional prototype for automatic quality inspection and conducting initial test runs for model validation.
- Collaborating actively in interdisciplinary teams to develop practical solutions.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled student (m/w/x) in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or similar fields.
- Successful completion of most of the master's coursework, preferably with a focus on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages (especially Python) and experience with tools/frameworks like Scikit-learn, Keras, Pytorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV, as well as model architectures for object detection and segmentation.
- Quick learner, structured work approach, and willingness to work independently and in a team.
