Location and Flexibility

This is a hybrid role. You will need to work from one of our offices in São Paulo (2 times a week or 8 days a month) or Porto Alegre (3 times a week or 12 days a month). Our WFN culture aims to foster in-person innovation, collaboration, and connection with local and visiting team members from global offices.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled AI Engineer to bring AI research to life in long-term client projects. As an AI Engineer, you will be key in applying and integrating generative AI models to elevate digital products, making AI accessible and valuable in real-world applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI solutions to address business problems using knowledge of software engineering and AI systems.
• Collaborate with Data Science professionals specializing in machine learning and statistical modeling to solve complex technical challenges.
• Implement and optimize applied AI components to meet high complexity and scale project needs.
• Utilize generative AI models, including large language models, to create tailored prompts and solutions for specific scenarios.
• Develop AI solutions while adhering to industry best practices, including moderation, security, and compliance standards.
• Design, measure, and evaluate AI model outputs to ensure alignment with business objectives using standard and custom metrics.
• Translate AI research into production-ready features to deliver robust and scalable AI components.
• Select and apply appropriate evaluation metrics to ensure AI solutions are robust, unbiased, and meet performance standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in applied AI, including machine learning, deep learning, NLP, LLMs, and statistical analysis.
• Strong understanding of generative AI models and the ability to select the right model for specific use cases.
• Experience with data embeddings and vector databases, optimizing data ingestion with the best available options.
• Background in building and testing major server-side platforms (TypeScript/Express, Java/Spring, Python/Django, C#/.NET, Ruby/Rails, etc) for API development and orchestration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like AWS CodeDeploy, Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Hands-on experience deploying software on cloud platforms and using AI tools such as AWS Bedrock and Azure AI Services.
• Experience with performance optimization and observability platforms.
• Expertise in experiment tracking and implementing complex AI integrations with minimal oversight.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex AI solutions and concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in creating and adjusting prompts for complex AI systems to meet diverse project requirements.
• Familiarity with state-of-the-art methods and best practices for testing and evaluating AI systems.
• Strong collaboration skills, working alongside Data Science specialists on AI model development and fine-tuning.
