At Meta's Reality Labs, we are excited to announce an open position for an AI Research Science Manager, Neuromotor Interfaces. This role is pivotal in shaping innovative research in the realms of neuromotor interfaces, deriving from the sophisticated acquisition of CTRL-labs. We are in pursuit of a visionary who can drive advancements in machine learning and signal processing, crucial for creating interactive technologies for virtual and augmented reality environments.

Core Responsibilities:

As an AI Research Science Manager, you will:

• Lead a dynamic team of research scientists and software engineers, steering project directions and fostering career development.
• Design and execute groundbreaking applied research to enhance neuromotor interface technologies.
• Develop and implement core technologies applicable across different domains, prominently featuring in Integrity solutions.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) teams to transform scientific insights into new technological applications and user experiences.
• Utilize quantitative research methods to continually refine and progress our strategic research initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A PhD in fields such as systems neuroscience, computational neuroscience, machine learning, biophysics, electrical engineering, or statistics.
• Legal work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hiring, along with maintenance of said authorization during employment.
• Proficiency in research-oriented software engineering and quantitative methods.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technical skills and knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will also have:

• Over 5 years of experience in autonomously designing and conducting research studies.
• At least 2 years of experience leading technical project teams.
• Expertise in analyzing and modeling high-dimensional time series data from various sources.
• Experience with scientific communication tools like Jupyter and Matplotlib, and a background in software engineering within the industry.
• A track record of transitioning machine learning research into production-ready applications.
