Job Description

What You Will Do

As an AI Research Scientist, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing research, assessments, and technical evaluations of AI models, methods, and frameworks to enhance our AI capabilities and generative AI program.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and developing proof of concepts for AI applications to internal problems and datasets to de-risk AI engineering delivery.
  • Proactively staying up-to-date with the latest AI research.
  • Supporting the creation of intellectual property and the open release of scientific artifacts, establishing best practices, and handling related requests and queries.
  • Developing and implementing methodologies, benchmarks, and toolkits for evaluating different AI approaches.
  • Collaborating with the data science and AI community on joint projects and investigations.
  • Working within agile frameworks as part of an integrated team.
  • Assisting in technical training and knowledge sharing.
  • Senior members will have leadership roles in one or more AI domains, manage a small team of AI scientists and researchers, and provide active mentorship.

Education Requirements

Minimum Requirement:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A PhD is highly regarded but not essential.

What You Must Have

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 10 years of experience working within model training and deployment in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in GenAI, deep learning, NLP, CV, and ML frameworks, with other AI disciplines considered useful.
  • Hands-on code development experience and familiarity with the Python scientific computing stack.
  • An understanding of the artificial intelligence research landscape and the ability to review research publications.
  • Excellent communication skills to express technical viewpoints to senior stakeholders clearly and succinctly.
  • Experience developing algorithms in C/C++ or Python.
  • Knowledge of transformer-based models and experience with deep learning frameworks is a plus.
  • Domain knowledge in pharmaceutical business areas such as research, clinical, manufacturing, commercial, and corporate functions is highly regarded.
