About the Role

Become a pivotal part of the future of AI-driven scientific exploration! As an AI Tutor in Nuclear Physics, you'll be integral in teaching and refining advanced AI models utilizing Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) techniques. Your expertise in nuclear physics will steer these models to an in-depth and accurate understanding of critical nuclear physics areas including:

  • Nuclear Reactions: Fission, fusion, scattering, and their applications in energy production, astrophysics, and medical treatments.
  • Radioactive Decay: Types of decay, decay chains, half-life calculations, and their implications for radioactive dating, medical imaging, and nuclear waste management.
  • Nuclear Structure and Models: Describing the nucleus, understanding nuclear forces, predicting nuclear properties, and exploring exotic nuclei.
  • Radiation Interactions with Matter: Different types of radiation, their interactions, and principles behind their detection and shielding, crucial for radiation safety and medical applications.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Teaching: Develop concise, illuminating explanations to guide AI models toward grasping key nuclear physics concepts.

Evaluation: Create and conduct rigorous tests to assess the AI models’ proficiency in solving nuclear physics problems.

Red Teaming: Detect and address potential biases, limitations, or inaccuracies in the AI models' understanding, ensuring robust and reliable performance.

Collaboration: Partner with our AI researchers and engineers, offering your expertise to enhance training methodologies and perfect the AI models' capabilities.

About You

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics, or a related field, with a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the discipline. Exceptional candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Physics or an MD specializing in nuclear medicine and significant practical experience will also be considered.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific information in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for scientific precision.
  • Keen interest in the application of AI in scientific research and a desire to contribute to cutting-edge technological advancements.

Pay Range: $15—$60 USD per hour
