Summary: The AIML Data organization at Apple is dedicated to enhancing our products by interpreting data as the voice of our customers. We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer within the Siri Data Engineering team. This role involves building robust systems that manage data at scale, creating high-quality datasets that facilitate informed decision-making, ensuring Siri remains an exceptional product.

Key Qualifications:

- 7+ years of technical experience in designing, developing, and maintaining distributed data processing platforms.
- 5+ years in industry roles handling batch or streaming data processing technologies like Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, Flink, Kafka, Presto, etc.
- 3+ years of data modeling experience with proficiency in designing warehouse table schemas.
- Expertise in a high-level programming language such as Java, Scala, Python, or Go.
- Strong experience with SQL and handling large, complex data sets.
- Excellent collaboration skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams to meet project requirements and timelines.
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to thrive in ambiguous environments; strong growth mindset and curiosity.

Role Description:

In this pivotal role, you will develop large-scale batch and streaming datasets to support analytics, experimentation, and machine learning. You'll spearhead our self-serve data strategy, aiding data scientists and product engineers in enhancing product functionality. Key tasks include designing data logging mechanisms, validating data integrity in our Data Warehouse, and creating accessible, high-performance data models. Additionally, you will develop tools to scale data engineering efforts and automate dataset lifecycle management with the highest standard of data quality.

Education & Experience:

Surprise us with your background! Ideal candidates will often have an MS or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in data engineering.

Pay & Benefits:

Apple offers competitive salaries within a given range, potentially between $138,900 and $256,500, based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
