The Role

This role calls for robust collaboration and communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, designing and owning projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate complex data requirements into actionable and reusable data models.
  • Maintain clear and consistent documentation.
  • Collaborate across the wider data team to align with business objectives, including conducting peer reviews.
  • End-to-end ownership of projects, managing priorities to meet deadlines and deliverables.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience with SQL and data visualization tools, preferably Looker.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in the credit domain is indispensable.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.

Desirable:

  • Experience with dbt or eagerness to learn.

Working at Starling

Starling supports a hybrid working model, blending in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. We believe in empowering our team members to decide the right balance in consultation with their managers.

Benefits

  • 33 days of holiday plus an extra day for your birthday and 16 hours of paid volunteering time annually.
  • Flexible working hours, enhanced pension schemes, and life insurance.
  • Comprehensive private medical insurance, including mental health support and partner benefits from premium brands.
  • Access to internal social groups, wellness platforms, retail discounts, and green transport incentives.

Interview Process

Our interview process is designed to be a conversation, not a test. We want to know you fully—your insights, skills, and curiosities. Following an initial chat, the process includes a practical test and two rounds of interviews focusing on technical acumen and cultural fit.
