About the Role: Applied Research Scientist – Quantum-Inspired and Randomized Algorithms

We are searching for skilled applied algorithms researchers who are proficient in either quantum-inspired or randomized algorithms for optimization and machine learning, or those experienced in developing high-performance code using accelerators such as GPUs. Knowledge in the financial sector is advantageous but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advance research in quantum-inspired and randomized algorithms, focusing on applications in optimization, machine learning, and financial domains.
  • Develop and implement algorithms in high-performance software.
  • Provide innovative research solutions to challenges encountered by internal teams.
  • Collaborate with fellow researchers to document and present findings at scientific conferences.
  • Contribute to JPMorgan Chase’s intellectual property through strategic IP protection efforts.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, Math, Engineering or related fields.
  • Proven research capability in quantum-inspired algorithms or pertinent areas.
  • Strong skills in technical writing and scientific documentation.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C/C++.
  • Experience in developing high-performance codes.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Expertise in GPU programming and familiarity with CUDA, SYCL.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A robust publication record in distinguished venues like ICML, NeurIPS, and others.
  • Link to Google Scholar or Semantic Scholar profile highly regarded.
