An Applied Scientist II in the Selling Partner Services (SPS) Machine Learning Accelerator (MLA) team is charged with researching and prototyping machine learning applications that address strategic business issues across SPS domains. Besides, the scientist partners with engineers and business colleagues to develop and implement large-scale solutions when deemed beneficial to SPS organizations. They introduce tools that simplify problem-solving processes, display depth and competency in numerous areas, and influence the team's technical strategy with insightful contributions. They also develop tools and practices that streamline the team's work, mentor junior team members, and participate in hiring.

Basic Qualifications:
- PhD, or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field.
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or similar language.
- Knowledge in any of these areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Unix/Linux.
- Professional software development experience.

Our salaries reflect labor costs across US geographic markets. The annual pay for this position ranges from $136,000 in our lowest geographic market to $222,200 in our highest one. Factors such as market location and job-related skills and knowledge can affect the pay rate.
