Job Description Summary

The Associate Director, AI Engineer will play a pivotal role in developing, maintaining, and productionizing AI solutions across various business areas. This hands-on role requires expertise in developing AI/ML models and providing essential tools and resources for business partners. Responsibilities include packaging solutions and codebases, building machine learning pipelines, and leveraging the latest data science, AI, and cloud technologies to scale solutions systematically.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership in machine learning and AI solution engineering.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute the product roadmap.
• Stay updated on the latest AI developments to keep our platform cutting-edge.
• Drive research to explore new machine learning and AI techniques for product enhancement.
• Identify opportunities for innovation in clinical trial optimization.
• Promote modern, agile development practices and a robust engineering culture.

Team Management

• Coach and mentor team members in a matrix organization.
• Lead, inspire, and contribute to team development and retention.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Set clear goals, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback.

Quality, Security, and Compliance

• Implement and enforce security protocols and best practices to protect sensitive data.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Collaborate with security teams for regular vulnerability assessments and audits.
• Implement rigorous testing and quality assurance processes.

Documentation and Training

• Champion high standards to ensure best practices within the team.
• Create and maintain documentation related to platform configuration, processes, and best practices.
• Provide training and support to development teams on platform usage and optimization.

Candidate Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Proven experience in managing AI/ML development platforms.
• Strong understanding of machine learning and AI concepts.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with DL frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Exposure to Knowledge Graph/graph technologies.
• Ability to explain and present machine learning concepts to a broad audience.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in security best practices, data protection, and encryption methods.
• Strong project management and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience with software engineering and machine learning best practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and shell scripting.
• Creative, collaborative, and product-focused mindset.
