This role is crucial in the end-to-end management of business intelligence, including collaboration with senior teams to define data architecture, application development, and product operations. You will build and own crucial data products that generate immediate customer value and have a real impact, all within a supportive environment provided by our high-performing team. Key responsibilities: - Join the Omni project team (internal project name for our Commercial Business Intelligence platform), supporting the development of BI solutions for our internal and external customers as required by business objectives - Contribute to projects across the key BI areas as required by demand, with clear opportunity for growing into leading projects in the following areas: - Requirements gathering and product scoping - ETL with source systems and data management - Analytics development and insight identification - Application development and process automation - Report definition and design, and storytelling with visualization - Collaborate with the Omni team to identify untapped opportunities for BI to positively impact Lonza's business, primarily within, but not restricted to, the Commercial functions. - Improve data quality and availability by building processes, tools, and reports for all data flowing in and out of the BI platforms, and by collaborating with internal teams responsible for respective datasets. - Promote innovation within the area of BI by developing proof of concept processes and tools with other team members to enhance the efficiency, quality, and delivery time of analysis within Lonza. - Ensure all solutions align with IT architecture and infrastructure guidelines, contributing to Omni team best practices to ensure consistent and stable delivery of applications and reports. - Perform other duties as assigned according to business requirements. Minimum Required Qualifications / Skills: - Logical problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a passion for exploring and analyzing the root causes of events in processes, coupled with a solid background in data analysis and process understanding - Must have a good understanding of IT architecture and infrastructure, especially regarding data and business intelligence - Understand the principles of data management, including operating in a database-driven environment - Visual design aptitude and comprehension of UX concepts - Awareness of Agile-based processes for developing solutions - Specific technical skills desired for this role (not all are required, but preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate knowledge in more of the most relevant areas): - Experience with database architecture and ETL, particularly with enterprise data systems (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, SnapLogic, Talend, SSIS, Azure Data Factory). - Experience with application development in a web-based environment (PHP, .NET, Ruby, JavaScript, Node, HTML, CSS). - Experience in developing and working with APIs - Development of data processes and applications on cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) - Skills or willingness to learn advanced analytical techniques, predictive modeling, ML, text analytics methods, LLM (e.g., in Python, R) Every day, Lonza's products and services positively affect millions of people.
