Our team, Core Shopping (CS) Analytics, plays a vital role in ensuring customers can securely discover, evaluate, and purchase products across the Amazon store. We manage analytics for key features including Navigation, Homepage, Inspire, App First, Detail Page, Cart, Checkout, Add-to-Cart, and Address experiences.

Key Job Responsibilities

As an Analytics expert on the App-First & List team, you will pioneer efforts to enhance the Amazon shopping app experience and help customers leverage the List functionality. You will:

  • Own core datasets to understand customer navigation.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to develop frameworks improving customer experience.
  • Deliver in-depth analyses and recommendations to shape the product roadmap.
  • Drive adoption of datasets and mental models throughout the Consumer organization.
  • Work closely with a team of over 10 BI Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to enhance the end-to-end shopping journey.

A Day in the Life

Our team operates on a 5-week Sprint schedule, with 1 week dedicated to planning and 4 weeks for execution.

  • Planning Week: Groom backlogs, scope, and prioritize projects.
  • Learning Day: A self-directed day for skill development, reserved every Planning Week Friday.
  • Execution Weeks: Regular stand-ups, mid-sprint demos, and varied projects focused on building datasets, conducting analysis, and disseminating insights.

About the Team

We empower over 500 Builders and 100+ partner teams by providing 'Source of Truth' datasets, self-service dashboards/gits, scheduled reports, and custom metrics. In 2023, we've supported new experiences from logging to reporting/self-service and advanced our foundational services for greater insight generation.

Location

We are currently hiring candidates to work out of our Vancouver, BC, CAN location.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau, Quicksight.
  • Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Knowledge in Statistical Analysis packages (R, SAS, Matlab).
  • Experience using SQL and scripting languages like Python for data processing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions (EC2, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift).
  • Background in data mining, ETL, and dealing with complex datasets in a business environment.

Compensation

The base salary for this position ranges from $76,400/year to $127,600/year, depending on experience and qualifications. Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
