Your Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and expert Data and Applied Scientist (DAS) to help build and deliver business intelligence for the next generation of Windows devices. You will work with program management, development, design, hardware and application teams to answer key business questions, set performance indicators, analyze data, and generate experiment ideas that drive our business metrics.

Responsibilities

As an Applied Data Scientist, you will:

• Own and analyze business questions for the team.
• Curate and maintain Key Performance Indicators to track trends towards business goals.
• Identify complex data patterns that provide insights for achieving business objectives.
• Evaluate returns on investments for new ideas and measure their alignment with customer and business expectations.
• Design and assess experiments to measure growth and derive actionable insights.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone with:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative field.
• 4+ years of experience in Data Science / Analytics.
• Experience with Big Data technologies like Spark, Hadoop or other open-source technologies like SCOPE/COSMOS or U-SQL/ADL.
• Proficiency in EDA, Inference analysis, Predictive analysis (Regression, Classification, etc.), and forecasting.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably C#, Python, or Java.
• Experience with experiment design and analysis.
• Ability to thrive in a startup environment, manage ambiguity, and drive clarity.
• A proven track record of leadership, critical thinking, technical skills, and relentless drive for progress.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to tell compelling stories through data.
