About the Role: Full-Stack Data Analyst

We are looking for a full-stack data analyst who can take end-to-end ownership of the data and analytics ecosystem at Valon. In this role, you will build out reporting, generate insights, create data products, and support our data infrastructure. You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization and serve as the authority on key metrics driving our business. The ideal candidate is analytical, adaptable to changing circumstances, and possesses a mix of technical skills and business intuition.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and influence data processes, tools, and systems to make scalable, informed decisions.
  • Write SQL queries, build dashboards, and conduct deep dives to empower business leaders.
  • Build our regulatory reporting and quality control engine.
  • Collaborate with the data team to enhance our data platform.
  • Leverage data tools to create products that increase operational efficiency.
  • Document data, ensure accuracy, and create/improve data sets to meet Valon's needs.
  • Respond to data requests from product and business teams.
  • Understand the complexities of the mortgage industry in-depth.

Ideal Background

  • 1+ years of full-time work experience in data analytics, product analytics, business analytics, or business intelligence, ideally at a tech company.
  • Expert in SQL (Python skills a plus).
  • Experience with data visualization tools, especially Looker, Hex, or an equivalent BI tool.
  • Experience working with data engineering teams and building out data infrastructure.
  • Ability to apply data and analytics concepts to business problems cross-functionally.

  • Base Compensation Band: $97,000 - $132,000.

This base compensation pay range applies to our New York City staff and may differ according to location. New York Base Compensation Pay Range $97,000—$132,000 USD.
