Data Analyst Opportunity in Swindon

Location: Swindon (Hybrid working, expected to work 2 days a week in the office)

Salary: Circa £33k per annum, depending on experience

The Opportunity

Join our UK Life Reporting & Data Team at Zurich Insurance, where you'll contribute to the accurate, timely, and high-quality production and distribution of reports and data across UK Life, catering to our customers and their advisors. Support the development and delivery of innovative operational reporting, data solutions, and analytics to enhance our business processes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Producing regular reports, ad hoc tasks, and conducting necessary investigations.
  • Implementing agreed controls, practices, and procedures according to service level agreements.
  • Developing and improving procedures to streamline work processes.
  • Resolving complex issues using internal and external business awareness.
  • Maintaining a high level of expertise in related products, services, and systems.
  • Managing assigned tasks, applying controls, hitting deadlines, and meeting expectations.
  • Embedding data-driven practices at the core of UK Life business operations.
  • Adapting to changes in the Life Business, producing and distributing key data and reports.
  • Delivering a first-class experience to internal and external customers by enhancing expertise and sharing knowledge.
  • Handling and resolving daily data and information queries.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks to the business to improve overall quality.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We're looking for candidates who possess:

  • Experience within a customer-centric environment; experience in financial services is advantageous but not essential.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and some experience in developing and querying relational databases (e.g., Access, SQL).
  • Hands-on experience with 3rd party reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Business Objects, and QlikView.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and delivery skills.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with a keen interest and aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently and effectively prioritize tasks according to business needs.
