Job Description
At Northern Trust, as a Data Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Evolving ETL pipelines for both structured and unstructured data from a variety of disparate sources to meet the needs of an advanced Insider Threat program.
- Designing analytical visualizations via custom dashboards in collaboration with Data Science and Analysis staff.
- Participating in every step of the continuous development lifecycle—design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Supporting and presenting the visualization platform to internal customers and senior leadership.
- Collaborating with the design team and product management to implement innovative analytics and visualizations for real-world threat problems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 3+ years of experience developing ETL pipelines using SAS, Python, or R.
- Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, or MySQL queries.
- 3+ years of experience developing visual analytics reports in tools such as SAS Visual Analytics, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to resolve user questions through independent study, investigative programming, and collaborative efforts.
- Experience in platform administration and engineering with SAS 9 or SAS Viya 4 or similar architecture.
- Proficiency in UI and/or UX design.
- Experience with automation development in Python and API development.
- Experience with cloud technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, GCP, and OpenShift.
- Knowledge of Agile development practices and tools such as GITLAB.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, and Linux commands.
- Proficiency in open-source programming languages.

Salary
The likely salary range for this position is $115,256 - $155,934. Note that this range is not a guarantee of compensation. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, geographic location, and potentially contractual requirements.
